Explain
Immigration in terms of Minecraft
Immigration is basically trying to migrate your Minecraft world onto a server that has already been griefed to hell and back by the local admin.
In this scenario, the Home Office is essentially a twelve year old server moderator who spends all day hovering in spectator mode to ensure you do not possess more than three dirt blocks and a soggy bit of flint. You arrive at the border with your inventory full of hard-earned diamonds, but the host nation demands you prove you can craft a diamond pickaxe using only a stick you found in a bin in Slough. They insist on seeing your spawn egg credentials, all while the server lag ensures your application form moves slower than a skeleton trapped in a cobweb.
Once you are finally granted access, you realise the server has been running since 2011 and the spawn point is just a barren crater filled with obsidian pillars and the burnt remains of a wooden shack. You are expected to integrate immediately, ignoring the fact that the established players have already hoarded all the iron and have rigged the local village to explode if anyone else touches their crop farm. You spend your nights huddling in a hole to avoid the creepers, while the admin broadcasts messages about how the server was much better back in the alpha version when nobody else had access to the chat box.
Where the analogy breaks downActual nations are rarely hosted on a server that resets the entire map when the owner stops paying the monthly subscription fees.
