Terms of use
These terms govern your use of thatsrelatable.app (“the site”), run by the operator of thatsrelatable.app (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
1. What the site is
The site publishes short explanations (“relatables”) written by an AI language model from subjects and lenses that members choose, and reviewed by us before they are published. Relatables are for entertainment and general interest. They can contain mistakes and are not professional, medical, legal or financial advice.
2. Accounts
- You need an account to make relatables, vote and react. You must give a real email address and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Your username is public if you choose to appear on the leaderboard or profile pages. Do not use a username that is offensive, misleading or impersonates someone else.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
3. What you may and may not do
You agree not to:
- submit subjects, lenses, messages, usernames or pictures that are hateful, discriminatory, sexual, violent, defamatory, illegal, or that target a private individual;
- try to make the AI ignore its instructions, or use the site to generate content for other purposes;
- create several accounts, use automated tools, or otherwise manipulate votes, reactions, flags or the leaderboard;
- scrape, copy or republish large parts of the site, or put a significant part of it on another site, without our written permission;
- attempt to disrupt, probe or gain unauthorised access to the site or other users’ accounts.
We may refuse a request, hide or delete a relatable, picture or vote, limit your daily usage, or suspend or close an account if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken.
4. Your content
When you submit a subject, a lens, a profile picture or a message, you confirm you are allowed to, and you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, display, adapt and share it on and in connection with the site, including the relatable generated from your subject and lens. You can ask us to remove your picture or delete your account at any time.
5. Relatables and ownership
Relatables are generated by AI and published by us. Relatables you make are credited to your username if your profile is public, but the site and its collection of relatables remain ours. You may share links to relatables and quote short extracts with a link back to the page. Please do not copy relatables in bulk.
6. Flagging and takedown
Anyone can flag a relatable. If you believe a relatable is inaccurate, infringes your rights or names you unfairly, tell us through the contact page with the link to the page and the reason. See our editorial policy.
7. Availability
We try to keep the site running but do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or remove features, including daily limits, at any time.
8. Third-party links
The site may link to other websites, including share links to social networks. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.
9. Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, the site is provided “as is”. We are not liable for loss arising from reliance on a relatable, or for indirect or consequential loss. If you use the site as a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the bottom shows when they last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
