Fortnite in terms of A Pensioner
Playing Fortnite is like visiting your nan for a Sunday afternoon tea.
Just like visiting your nan, you start by waiting in a lobby. This is exactly like sitting on a hard wooden chair in her hallway, waiting for her to finish knitting your jumper. Everyone is jumping around, wearing silly hats, and throwing glittery dance moves. You might feel a bit shy because you do not know the rules, but you just have to wait for the bus to take you to the party.
Once you jump off the bus, you land on a big island that is surprisingly busy for a Tuesday. You spend most of your time picking up bits and bobs from the ground, just like your nan searching for her missing spectacles under the sofa. You find a shiny shield, a fancy wooden floor, and a toasted sandwich. If someone tries to bother you, you quickly build a little shed to hide in, which is much easier than trying to tell your nan that you are full after your third biscuit.
The circle on the map gets smaller and smaller, which is just like when your nan decides it is time to turn off the television. You have to move closer to the middle before the cold air catches you. If you stay until the very end, you win a gold umbrella. It is much more exciting than a packet of peppermint creams, but you still have to leave your shoes by the door just like she asks.
Where the analogy breaks downyour nan does not let you respawn if you drop your tea.
