Why cockerels crow in terms of an alarm clock with no snooze button
Why does a loud cockerel wake everyone up just like an alarm clock that has forgotten how to snooze?
A cockerel crows to tell other birds that he is the boss of his garden. He is like a clock that starts ringing at dawn to show he is awake and ready for the day. He does not have a button to press for ten more minutes of sleep, so he keeps on calling until the sun is high in the sky.
When the sun comes up, his little body feels ready to shout. He does not care if you wanted to stay tucked up in your cosy duvet. He just wants to let every other bird know that his patch of grass is very important. It is his way of saying hello to the morning in a very noisy, feathery, and bossy voice.
He is quite proud of his loud wake-up call and keeps going even if you cover your ears with a pillow. A normal clock would let you rest, but this feathery alarm keeps shouting until the whole neighbourhood knows it is time to get up. He is simply the most persistent, grumpy, and feathered clock you will ever meet.
Where the analogy breaks downA cockerel crows to defend his territory rather than to help you get to school on time.
