The Tudors in terms of EastEnders
The Tudors are just like a very dramatic family living on Albert Square.
King Henry VIII is basically a landlord who keeps changing his rules to get his own way. He decides he wants a new wife, so he moves on from one to the next just like someone getting a new sofa from the shop. If he does not like a person anymore, he sends them away or locks them in a dark room. It is very loud and everyone is always shouting at each other in the kitchen.
The other people in the house are busy planning secrets behind his back. Everyone is trying to be the most important person in the room while drinking tea and looking cross. They spend all day whispering in the hallway about who did what wrong. It is very silly because they all live in the same big house and should just try being nice to one another instead.
Poor people like Anne Boleyn find out that the landlord is a bit mean when he decides he is bored. He changes the locks and leaves them with nothing. It makes the whole family very sad and angry, but they just keep on living together and arguing about who gets the biggest bedroom. They never seem to learn that being unkind makes for a very unhappy home.
Where the analogy breaks downHenry VIII had much more power than a landlord, and he did not just evict his wives, he had them killed.
